James Sutherland has been CEO of Cricket Australia since 2001, having joined in 1998 after a management role at Carlton Football Club.
A qualified chartered accountant who worked at Ernst and Young, James is also a former Victorian cricketer.
During his time as CEO, Australian teams have enjoyed significant successes, including the Men's 2003 and 2007 ICC World Cups and the Women's ICC World Cup in 2005.
James has been closely involved in the 2011 Australian Team Performance Review which has led to major changes in Australian cricket's high performance management, and has guided a comprehensive review of Australian cricket's strategy designed to achieve cricket's vision of being Australia's favourite sport.
