Marne Fechner, CEO, Netball AustraliaMarne Fechner was appointed Chief Executive of Netball Australia in April 2017. Marne brings more than 20 years’ experience in sports administration, leadership and marketing to the role. She has been involved in community and high-performance netball for more than X years.

With a strategic imperative to further Australia’s oldest and largest participatory sport for women and girls, Marne leads the organisation to empower Australian girls and women to shine; enrich and connect communities; and celebrate and advance Australia’s most successful team - the Diamonds - at the pinnacle of the sport. She believes netball can have an influence beyond the game, and is committed to make a difference in communities across the country.

In 2015, as Chief Executive of the Netball World Cup, Marne delivered the most commercially successful World Cup ever, and has more than doubled Netball Australia’s revenue since 2007.

Previously, as Netball Australia’s Head of Commercial, she played a pivotal role in securing a landmark 5-year broadcast deal with Nine and Telstra; secured the most significant sponsorship investment in female sport in Suncorp; and led the collective bargaining process with the Australian Netball Players Association for the new National Netball League, now known as Suncorp Super Netball.

Marne was awarded the Sport Executive of the Year in the 2016 CEO Magazine Awards. She holds a Master’s Degree in Sports Management from Deakin University and a Master’s Degree in Marketing from RMIT.
